Karla Capristan, a candle maker from Peru who is passionate about eco-friendliness, contacted us for assistance. She is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and sought our help redesigning her logo, brand identity, summer collection label packaging, and social media graphics for her soy wax candles after a year in the candle industry. Karla recognized that her previous logo and branding no longer aligned with her company's appeal and values and desired an upgrade to better connect with her target audience.

Lolita’s Candle Company has been under Karla’s ownership and management since 2020, and we were determined to create an identity that truly reflected their values of safety, intentionality, and visual appeal. To achieve an avant-garde look and style and a cohesive brand identity applied across all of their marketing collateral, we created a semi-custom logotype with clean and feminine typography paired with a modern colour palette of misty rose, black, and white.

Karla's soy wax products are the heart and soul of their brand. The new logotype style boldly showcases this foundation and confidently represents Karla's unique identity as a determined, successful, and creative Peruvian female CEO. The hand-designed letter 'L' in Lolitas further strengthens the handmade feel of the logo, connecting it to the original product line that started it all and which the brand seeks to be most recognized for.

In 2021, we worked with Lolita's Candle Company to develop an eye-catching packaging design for their summer collection. Collaborating with their passionate and dedicated CEO, Karla, was an amazing experience. Her handmade candles are unique, sustainable, and made with love in her kitchen. We aimed to create packaging that would reflect the company's values and vision with a modern and stylish look. To achieve this, we chose a minimalistic typography style and natural, dreamy colours that would resonate with their audience. The clear vessel jars were finished with a feminine arched sticker, while the white tin cans were designed to reflect peacefulness. Our collaboration blossomed into a strong friendship, and we are now their go-to creative designer. Their summer collection features a delightful blend of floral, sweet, and woodsy scents, such as ylang-ylang, mandarin, cedar, and juniper, perfect for summer. We are proud of the packaging design we created and are excited about the continued success of Lolita's Candle Co.

In August 2022, Karla reached out again and asked us to design square and rectangle labels for her upcoming candle company launch in the fall of 2022. The deadline for this project has been set for the second week of September 2022. Autumnal feelings inspired the fall label design for Lolita's Candle Company. We kept the typography and layout simple and minimalistic so that the candles and the jars and tins they come in can be used as fall decorations for every household. We chose a neutral colour palette of Russian green, light French beige, Navajo white, and burnt orange to represent individuality and comfort. We wanted these colours to add warmth and coziness to the season.

Lolita's Candle Company asked Studio Happiness Of Anna the same year to help them create a unique label design for their Christmas collection. We were tasked with giving the label packaging a festive, bright, and joyful vibe to make customers feel cherished and loved during the holiday season. Our studio is ecstatic to be working on this project and is confident in our ability to create an exceptional and unique label design for Lolita's Candle Company.
THE SOLUTION

As per Karla's instructions, the label design for Lolita's Candle Company's limited-edition Christmas collection should be lively and illustrative, capturing the essence of the holiday season. Our studio's illustration capabilities will be tested for this project. Our original sketches of the candle ingredients during the brainstorming session helped us achieve the desired design. The client has chosen some delightful Christmas fragrances for their collection, including orange, fir, and vanilla for 'Holiday' and apples, berries, and clove for 'Mistletoe.' 'White Christmas' contains evergreen, pine, and floral. The label design, featuring red for Mistletoe, green for Holiday, and blue for White Christmas, was digitized and approved by the client before being sent for printing. The label design is elegant and festive, complementing the lovely glass vessel jars and gold tins. These handpicked scents will create a festive atmosphere for customers globally.
Our collaboration with Lolita's Candle Co. has undoubtedly led to remarkable achievements after creating their logo, brand strategy, visual identity, social media graphics, and summer packaging. Our persistent efforts have made significant strides in their branding and growth, evident in the fall and holiday candle collection packaging for 2022 that we are proud to create. Furthermore, we are delighted to have witnessed their recent opening of a physical store in the Richmond Hill neighbourhood, which was celebrated with close friends and loved ones at the end of December 2022. The remarkable success of Lolita's Candle Co. is a testament to its exceptional products, and we do not doubt that they will continue to amaze their customers and thrive in the years to come.
